Cryotherapy is the term used to describe all treatments aimed at reducing body temperature without destroying tissue. In other words, cryotherapy is a medical technique in which the body is exposed to very low temperatures in order to stimulate its natural healing powers.🌬️👩‍⚕️

Increasingly used in sports medicine and more recently in aesthetics, it can be used to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, improve recovery from injury or surgery and even lose weight!🏋️‍♂️💅💪

But did you know that there are different types of cryotherapy? 🤓

Here are the main methods:

 

  • Cold Bath Immersion (CWI): what we have been doing for 20 years (yes, 20 years already…). 🛁🔬

In fact, according to several scientific studies, it’s one of the most effective methods, depending on the protocols used! 


 

  • “Cabin Cryotherapy” (CCE): The most popular, but not the most effective. This method involves immersing the whole body in a cold chamber, usually for 2 to 3 minutes at extremely low temperatures. ❄️⏱️

 

  • The spray: the classic cold spray for immediate use traumas, minor injuries, bruises…💨🤕

 

  • By contact with cold compresses.❄️🩹

 

  • By exposure to jets of cold air. 🌬️

 

New methods are also emerging, particularly for beauty and beauty treatments.🧖🏼
